Nicole received her Bachelors of Science degree from the college of biological sciences from the University of Guelph in 2010. Following this, she worked for multiple universities and government agencies as a research assistant, including the Brisbane Ministry of Natural Resources and Cornell University. Her passion for the sciences, particularly biology and chemistry, guided her to studying at the University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education where she received her Bachelors of Education in science teaching. She quickly earned her math teachable, as she was always a gifted mathematician in university courses and her professional career. After completing her first year of teaching in the beautiful Trinidad and Tobago, she quickly was hired full time within the York Region District School Board.
