Tamara has been an Ontario Certified Teacher since 2005. She is qualified to teach primary, junior, intermediate and senior divisions. She is an experienced educator who has taught with the York Region District School Board both at the elementary and secondary levels for over 10 years. Most recently, she has taught in the private sector, mainly at the middle and high school level. Teachable subjects include guidance and careers, civics, visual arts, and music. Guidance, academic counseling, and mental health education have become among one of Tamara's recent specialties. She holds an Additional Qualification in Guidance Studies, part 1, as well as a Master's of Arts in Psychology. She is certified in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA, 2018), and has co-facilitated a program for counseling children with A.D.D./A.D.H.D challenges through Kinark Family Services. Tamara's long term goal is to educate and guide youth who experience mental health struggles, as well as those who need coaching with study skills and working towards academic success in the post-secondary years. Tamara's holistic approach to tutoring is by coaching the whole child, in terms of both academic and social/emotional developmental growth. Tamara enjoys reading, fitness, and health, and creates painting and photography at stolen moments. Tamara enjoys quality family time with her husband and two children.
